These beautiful coloured agates are from the heart of afrika. Their size reaches up to 4 inches - but it is not the size that makes them so desirable among collectors. Their attraction is founded in colours: gold, red, orange, pink and blue - often seen in one single pattern.
Malawi-agates are showing very often a deformation in the banding - one reason for their very vivid pattern.
Until today most agates are surface findings from the region near to the township Ngaba. Most of the material shows crackles and cleavages. Thats why they need to be dom-cut in spherical shapes.
