Asni - Agates show some very typical characteristics:
- most of the nodules are having a intense red colored surface.
- between red crust and lined agate banding goethite-needles can be found as inclusions.
- very often they show quartz-chalcedony-interlayers.
- very desirable pieces show a deformation: the agate banding does not look concentrical - it shows straight parallel lining.
- sometimes pseudomorphs after a blade-formed mineral do occur.
