The agate-nodules from Oswaldhoehe are still situated at their place of origin - not fluvial transported like the most agates from Rhine-Hessia. Very typical for them are inclusions of exactly shaped and big pyrite-crystals (up to 2 cm). Some of the pyrite can be replaced by limonite, but the exact triangular or square shaped inlusions of a metallic substance are easliy to recognize. The agate is showing a weak whitish or red fortification banding.
