Around the village Gau-Bickelheim are old agate-bearing gravel-beds situated. The agate-peebles are all edge-smoothed. The agates are showing different awesome colours: intensively red, black and yellow. Rare findings are agates of the “Scolecite-agate-typus” (see also page: Flonheim) and of the “water-level-typus” . Very interesting is one specimen found here that is showing the “Liesegang-Phenomenon”. Not rare are findings of peebles that are composed of macro-crystallized Quarz in the rim-area and a nice fortification-agate in the center. Besides agate petrified wood in little chunks is occuring in the gravel-beds too.
