The Heimersheimer Hoehe between Alzey and Heimersheim is a location to find agate-nodules at their place of origin. Agates from this place are showing a rough skin. Usually the colorization of the agates is weak. Very interesting is the formation of ”water-level-agate” in combination with “fortification-agate” at this location. At this place amethyst and smoky-quartz are occuring too.
