Eckersweiler is one of the most famous agate-finding-localities around Freisen. It is famous for the variety of agates in colours, structures and for the sometimes very large nodules. But it has become difficult to collect any second class agate these times because of points mentioned above.
Eckersweiler agates are showing a wide range of colours: bluegrey to brownish tones, intensively yellow, deeply red and a vibrant orange. The most desired colour of all is greenish. Vein-agates do occur beside agates in nodular shape.
Before entering a field you should ask for permission from the owner. Some fields are strictly forbidden to enter.
