Hahnweiler is a little village situated in western direction of Freisen. Two famous, but historical agate-finding-locations are existing near to Hahnweiler: the ”Erntekreuz” and “Leitzweiler Brücke” - both locations did belong to the road-construction works of the autobahn A 62. Most findings of agate today can be made on the fields around the village. In general they are small but nicely structured. Distinctive are “water-level-structures”, cloudy agate-formations und star-shaped makro-quartz. The best specimen of Hahnweiler are demonstrating a wide range of colours - some are showing pastels - others an intensively play of colours in red and brownish tones.

This agate-finding-location is published on the comprehensive and richly illustrated CD-ROM "agates from the region Freisen". This CD-ROM is available at the price of 20. - Euro in the agate archives.
