From the frejus area - near to Nice and Cannes - are these lithophysae originated. The small location near the village Esterel is now private property and the owner decided not to allow any longer the agate-hunting on his land. Some bushfires in 2002 and 2003 opened the surface around this location by burning the vegetation, but as far as I know no mentionable findings could be done.
The Lithophysae from this location are from globular shape and are showing a green skin. Their pattern is displaying nicely coloured “fortification-agate”, sometimes in combination with “water-level-agate”.
