Famous for their “Mustard & Ketshup” - colours are these  colourful agates among the best agates of the world. The classic combination of yellow and grey or the rare combination of vivid red and black in a fine fortification pattern is mindblowing. These agates are formed in nodules in a sedimentary limestone, belonging to the Borden-formation. Usually they are found in Estill and Powell County, but they occur in some parts of Madison, Lee, Castlerock and Jackson County too.

All agates shown here are from the collection of Lamon Flynn. He is digging for these agates on his own 150 ha propretary. The marvelous pictures are made from Doug Moore, Wisconsin.
