Nearly the whole Pazific-coast of Oregon is a finding-location for for “Beach Pebbles” - waterworn small specimen of agate in different variations and colours, jaspers and petrified wood.
Best time for collecting agates in the central area for agates between Florence and Otis is winter and early springtime, when the winterstorms have had newly modelled the beaches. Most agates are completly rounded by the sea and are giving nice specimen to collect after tumbling.
From the area of Newport awesome black agates are known. Very interesting are nodules that are showing both coloured and uncoloured zones.
